San Francisco is home to some of the best restaurants, diverse neighborhoods and unique hotels in the world. So I was uber excited when I was invited by InterContinental hotels to stay at their legendary InterContinental Mark Hopkins San Francisco and the ultra modern InterContinental San Francisco!
I had the honor of being a guest VIP judge for the annual Culinary Clash competition, where regional culinary clash winners from both the San Francisco properties, InterContinental Mexico City, Hotel Indigo Los Angeles and InterContinental San Diego competed, even Michelin-starred Luce (located at the stunning InterContinental San Francisco). ✨ The winning students took home a scholarship to continue their culinary schooling. It was such a fun event to watch the top pros battle it out and it was an even better experience to taste all their creations. I was also very impressed with the hotel’s breakfast spread the next morning and the Asian dumplings were divine!
The iconic InterContinental Mark Hopkins is centrally located in the historic and charming neighborhood of Nob Hill. Its close proximity to the shopping district and the downtown area makes it a prime location for some great sightseeing! If you want to burn off some extra calories from all your foodie excursions – walk the beautiful hilly streets and capture some fun photos along the way. Or you can opt for a cool Cable car to Fisherman’s Wharf from Union Square. I took a quick Uber ride to visit the famed Chinatown area, Museum of Modern Art and all the top loved attractions in the city. The views of the Golden Gate Bridge, Alcatraz, sea lions and sailboats in the bay were also breathtaking. Thank you to the lovely hotel concierge and check-in attendant – they were a huge help in planning out my day.
The property also boasts exquisite classic Renaissance decor and an even richer history. I really encourage you to check out many of the hotel’s historic features and illustrious stories. Our spacious and gorgeous corner suite offers stunning views but the hotel is really Instagram-worthy from every angle – truly a blogger’s dream! We had a delicious lunch at the hotel’s Nob Hill Club followed by a tour of the property. I was in complete awe of the 360 degree panoramic views of the bay on their 19th floor lounge, Top of the Mark. It’s a popular destination visited by many dignitaries, celebrities and servicemen since 1939. President Hoover, Elvis Presley, Judy Garland and The Rolling Stones are just some of the famous names who have graced the grand hotel. Oh, if these walls could talk! 🙂
The views of the skyline and some of my favorite landmarks were even more spectacular at night, especially over some tasty cocktails and scrumptious light bites.
From old world modern luxury to our second stay at the sleek and sophisticated InterContinental San Francisco – the views were just as magnificent! I stayed at a beautiful corner suite and the floor to ceiling skyline views were just jaw-dropping. Opened in 2008, the hotel’s prime location is a favorite for business and leisure travelers.
Not to mention, the property is also home to the 10 year awarded Michelin star restaurant, Luce, by Chef Daniel Corey. Basically, you can order room service and enjoy Michelin starred dishes delivered to your door! How cool is that?!
Another perk of staying at InterContinental hotels is the impressive Club InterContinental member perks. You get exclusive privileges and luxurious personal service, which always makes a stay extra special. I loved being able to catch up on phone calls or work in the Club Lounge while dining on complimentary bites and unlimited beverages.
San Francisco is a city that evokes adventure and where shopping, entertainment and some of the best dining makes it a top choice to visit. Thank you to the InterContinental for such an incredible stay at two impressive yet very different properties right in the heart of city! After hearing about their upcoming plans for both hotels, I’m so excited for the future changes and I already can’t wait to return! <3
